We are a civil society organization dedicated to building a more just society where all human beings are free and equal in dignity and rights. Our mission is to improve the lives of LGBTI+ people in Slovakia so that they can express their true selves and feel safe, respected, and accepted for who they are.
We defend human rights, we enact systemic change through strategic litigation, we educate the public, organize cultural events, and amplify the stories of LGBTI+ people, their families and children to change how they are perceived in the society. Slovakia ranks among the EU countries with the lowest levels of legal protection and social acceptance of LGBTI+ people and their families. Instead of finally progressing towards equality, LGBTI+ people are faced with constant attempts to further restrict their rights. Even after the horrifying attack in front of Tepláreň, one of the few LGBTI+ safe spaces in Bratislava, we are witnessing a concerning wave of hatred against the community.

We provide professional help
In our counseling center inPoradňa, we provide psychological, legal, and social counseling to improve the protection and quality of life of individuals at risk of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity. Since the creation of inPoradňa, we have helped over 1000 people who sought our support with self-acceptance, with integration into their families, schools, or wider society, and with resolving the impacts of unequal treatment or negligence of the authorities.
We defend human rights
We initiate strategic litigation cases, and we advocate for legislative and public policy changes that will ensure equal rights and safety for everyone. We build partnerships, we propose relevant measures, and we secure broad support in their favor to achieve lasting improvements to the lives of LGBTI+ people and their families in Slovakia.
We educate the public
We conduct research and campaigns that shed light on the lives of LGBTI+ people and their families and help society understand the challenges and prejudice they face. We educate individuals, businesses, and institutions, so that together we can create safe environments where everyone can feel accepted and respected.
